The Soft Savanna Nursery

A nursery where nature's quiet beauty sets the tone for every detail.

A watercolour savannah unfolds across the walls - giraffes, elephants, and palms rendered in muted ochres, dusty creams, and soft sage. Our client wanted this space to remind her of her unforgettable safari trips. The wallpaper is the room's point of departure, establishing a neutral palette that carries through every element with coherence.

A natural oak crib, dressed with a custom embroidered canopy, sits at the centre of the space under a contrasting modern chandelier that provides soft, even light. A comfortable circular armchair with a rattan side table shaped as an elephant introduces a discreet touch of whimsy without disrupting the room's quiet elegance.

Storage is handled through a custom made stair-stepped oak shelving unit with canned basket inserts and a hand painted toy box that doubles as a bench. We also created a bespoke lion rug for the baby to play on. 

Carefully chosen Steiff companions, animal art prints in natural wood frames, a large tencell rug, and handmade wooden lamps - each detail adding to the room's sense of narrative without overstating it.

The Soft Savannah is warm and imaginative, but above all, it is calm - a room designed to grow with a child, and to feel timeless from the very first day.
