A BIRTHDAY UNDER THE RIVIERA SUN 2026

Some celebrations deserve a table to match. This June, Sabrina Monte-Carlo and Christofle came together at The Maybourne Riviera to welcome summer, and to mark Sabrina's birthday, with a lunch that was as joyful and sun-drenched as the day itself, built around Christofle's new Malmaison Riviera collection.

Designed by our Creative Director, Carla Ballerio-Greggio, the table was set entirely in yellow: lemons spilling down the length of the cloth, tall stems of alliums rising between the settings, and Christofle's Malmaison Riviera plates, their warm, patterned surfaces catching the midday light, at every place. Silver cutlery and serving pieces added the quiet, considered contrast that only Christofle does so well. It was a table that felt abundant without being overdone; generous, luminous, and entirely of the season.

The guests arrived in yellow too, a planned coordination that said everything about the mood of the day. A live band played through lunch as Monaco stretched out below, its harbour and skyline forming the most extraordinary backdrop a table could ask for. By the time the birthday poster made its way around, covered in messages, signatures, and the warmth of a room full of people who love what they do, the afternoon had become something to remember.

The art of entertaining, at its best, is simply this: the right people, the right table, the right light. At The Maybourne Riviera, under a cloudless Riviera sky, we had all three.
