The Secrets Behind the Object

Kaorumi is a collection of fruits ready to be savored. Sliced kiwi, peeled orange, or quartered pomegranate rest upon pristine white porcelain, which beautifully emphasizes their vibrant geometry. For this line of 12 dessert plates and cake platters, Ryo Takemasa drafted the fruit using a compass and ruler before composing their delicate hues and textures.

With a twist: their perfectly symmetrical details and whimsical proportions transform a classic botanical study into a dreamlike vision of fruit. Their colors are so remarkably fresh that the porcelain seems to exhale the fragrance and flavor of the fruit—or, in Japanese, Kaorumi. Ringed with a delicate gold trim, the collection is a true invitation to shared moments and poetry.
